Privacy Policy
The short version
- No account, no sign-in, and we never ask for your name, email, phone number or location.
- Your progress (scores, coins, settings) stays on your phone, and is included in Android's own backup to your Google account so a new phone keeps it.
- If you finish a new personal best, that score and the display name you chose are posted to a public world leaderboard.
- The game shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first.
- We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see how the game is played (for example, how many players finish a first game or reach a target) and which ads brought players to the game. It never receives your leaderboard name.
1. Who we are
SmartX Number Merge is developed by SmartX Gaming Solutions ("we", "us"). Questions about this policy: smartxgamingsolutions@gmail.com.
2. Information stored only on your device
The following is saved in the app's private storage on your phone and is not sent to us: best score, coin balance, sound and number-style settings, daily quests and streak, lifetime stats, achievements, unlocked themes, your list of best runs, and your display name. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes it.
Android's own backup is switched on for this data, so that changing phones does not throw your progress away. The backup is made by Android into your Google account, not to us, and we cannot read it; you can turn it off in Settings → Google → Backup. Advertising and analytics identifiers are excluded from it.
3. Information sent to the world leaderboard
When a finished game is your new best for a number style, the app sends this to our leaderboard database (Google Cloud Firestore, operated by Google on our behalf):
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Display name you typed (default "Player") | Shown next to your score. Anyone using the app can see it, so don't use your real name if you'd rather not. |
| Score, best tile, number style, and the date | To rank the leaderboard. |
| A random player ID created on install | To show one row per player. It is not linked to your identity, device ID or advertising ID. |
| The server time the score was received | To stop scores being backdated. |
Leaderboard entries are public and are kept while the leaderboard exists. Like any internet request, Google's servers receive your IP address when the score is sent; we do not store it.
4. Advertising
The app shows ads using Google AdMob: an optional video you can choose to watch for a reward, and an occasional full-screen ad between games. To show and measure ads, Google may collect:
- your device's advertising ID,
- device and app information (model, OS version, language, app version),
- approximate location derived from your IP address,
- ad interactions (impressions, clicks, whether a video was completed).
On newer versions of Android the ads SDK may also use Privacy Sandbox on Android — Google's Topics, Attribution Reporting and Advertising ID services — so that ads can be chosen and measured from coarse interest topics worked out by the operating system instead of by following you across apps. The app declares the matching ACCESS_ADSERVICES_* permissions for this, and Google uses the Play install referrer to credit an install to the ad that led to it.
Where required (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), Google's consent form is shown before ads load, and ads are personalized only if you agree. You can change that answer at any time from inside the game: Menu → Privacy → Ad privacy options (the row appears wherever consent applies). You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your phone's Settings → Google → Ads. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Usage analytics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played and to measure which advertising campaigns bring players to it. It records:
- game events: a game started or finished, its score, number style, largest tile and targets reached, boosters used, coins earned from rewards or videos, ads watched, and which menus were opened;
- automatic events such as the first time the app is opened, sessions and app updates;
- device and app information (model, OS version, language, app version), approximate location derived from your IP address, an app-instance identifier, and your device's advertising ID;
- how you installed the app (the Google Play install referrer), so an install can be credited to the ad that led to it.
It does not receive your leaderboard name, and we never add any information that identifies you to it. Google processes this data on our behalf under the Google Privacy Policy; Analytics data is kept for no more than 14 months. You can limit the use of your advertising ID in your phone's Settings → Google → Ads.
6. What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't use crash-reporting services, and we don't use analytics for anything other than what section 5 describes.
- We don't access contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location. The app's full permission list is: internet and network state (leaderboard, ads and analytics); vibration, for haptic feedback; and — all requested by Google's ad and analytics SDKs rather than by the game itself — advertising ID, wake lock, the Privacy Sandbox services (
ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID,ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION,ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS) and the Google Play install-referrer service. - There are currently no in-app purchases. If they are added, payments will be handled by Google Play and we will never see your card details.
7. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has entered personal information as a leaderboard name, contact us and we will remove it.
8. Your choices and deleting your data
- Leaderboard name: change it any time from Menu → Best runs → Rename. New scores use the new name.
- Leaderboard entries: email us with your display name, your score and the date, and we'll delete the matching entries.
- Reporting a name: tap the ⚑ flag next to any name on the world board to email us about it. Names that break the rules are removed. Obviously offensive names are also replaced with "Player" automatically.
- Everything on your device: uninstall the app, or clear its storage in Android Settings.
- Ads: Menu → Privacy → Ad privacy options in the game reopens Google's consent form wherever consent applies; see section 4.
- Backup of your progress: turn off Android's backup in Settings → Google → Backup; see section 2.
- Analytics: resetting your advertising ID (Settings → Google → Ads) breaks the link to past ad data; uninstalling the app resets its app-instance identifier. Email us to ask for the deletion of analytics data for your installation.
9. Security
Data is sent over encrypted HTTPS. Leaderboard rules let nobody edit or delete another player's entry from the app.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's Play Store listing.
